San Francisco

Here’s What I did in San Francisco from Newark

I’m known to be quite adventurous and this mainly because I’m erratic and quite unpredictable. One of my unpredictable traits being – I woke up one morning and decided to go to San Francisco. The process was simple – I walked up to my boss and said him ill need five days off. Next thing I decide to call my friends and tell them about this solo mini trip that I was incline to go for. The only thing pondering over my head now was which flight and which destination should I go to! This is where having friends who love to travel help.

On my way to San Francisco with United Airlines

I was told to book the esteemed United Airlines. My journey and route were from Newark to San Francisco.  Thanks to my friends, I found good deals and was ready to start my adventure. I arrived at the airport the next morning and was quite impressed by how organized and punctual the Airline was. The flight was a direct one and took me around 6 hours to reach the destination. I found myself intrigued by the meals and the various entertainment systems and movies to watch.

Golden Bridge in San Francisco

San Francisco: Here I come!

I landed in San Francisco on time! and was pretty excited to explore this destination and make new memories. I had five days in my hand and I wanted to make the most of it. The very first place I visited was The Golden Gate Bridge. This bridge is supposedly the most visited and photographed one. It has extremely tall towers and one can view from many points like – Crissy Field, Fort Point, and Baker Beach. Most people who visit San Francisco find themselves visit the Golden Bridge for sure.

Alcatraz Island in San Francisco

Alcatraz Island was the second place to visit on my list. There is a prison located on this island and is consider to be one of the most famous ones in America. It was seen as a tourist attraction due to some popular inmates such as Al Capone and the Birdman. This island is at a top favorite attraction for the tourists. This is open all day. The fee for adults is Rs 3000 and for children Rs 2000.

China Town in San Francisco

My third destination was Chinatown! This Chinatown is very unique and different as compared to Chinatown in other cities. It is done up in a completely Chinese style and comprises of various temples, workshops, theatres, antiques and much more. It took me quite some time to explore the place, and honestly, it took me an entire day here!

Visit to Ferry Building Marketplace

This is so famous because it holds a tri-weekly farmers market. Apart from just this, it provides a home for some of the most beloved artists. One can also find many merchants inside like Cowgirl Creamery, Fort Point Beer Company, and Dandelion Chocolate. This is a must place to visit.

Ferry Building Marketplace in San Francisco

Apart from just sightseeing, I also explored the food and culture in San Francisco. I went to Tartine Bakery – always crowded, but the food was delicious. I also relished some Chinese food at Yang Sink. There I found myself binging breakfast at Plow and being astound by the variety of food there. And finally I went to Nopa –  Here one will find a variety of food which is simple. This being from pork chops, pasta, to flatbreads!
